Getting Into Your Franchise Portal

This page covers how you sign in to your franchise portal, how the shop switcher scopes everything you see, what your franchise-owner role can and cannot reach, and what to do if you are locked out. The franchise relationship itself is governed by the Franchise Program Policy and your signed agreement under the Franchise Agreement Policy; this page covers the mechanics of getting in.

Your portal is a vanity URL

When your franchise is granted, you receive a portal of your own: a vanity URL is created for your shop from your franchise code, and that address is delivered to you during onboarding. It is your front door: where you sign in from, and what your bookmark should point at. No All About Pawz page ever prints the address of the platform's own login door: a published login address invites attacks, which is why your entry is a provisioned vanity URL rather than a public one.

Behind your vanity URL you are using the same admin portal the corporate shops use, with your view fenced to your business. The fencing is the workspace system: your franchise is its own workspace, linked under the All About Pawz master, and everything you see is filtered to your shop. "The franchise portal" means the admin portal with your shop active.

Your login

Your login is created during onboarding. When the corporate team runs franchise signup, the system creates your owner account: franchise-owner role, marked as the owner, on the admin portal, with your name, email, and phone. If the "send invite" option was selected: it is by default: you receive an email with the subject line "Welcome to All About Pawz: [your business name] franchise onboarding" and a button that takes you to your franchise portal.

The invite email is sent once. If it never arrives: spam filter, a typo in the address, a mail provider problem: your login still exists. Do not wait for a second invite. Contact franchise support, ask them to confirm the email address on your login, and have the invite resent. The single most common onboarding snag is a transposed letter in the owner email; it takes moments to fix once someone looks.

Your login record is the authoritative source for who you are in the system. If your role ever looks wrong: you can see things you should not, or cannot see things you should: the fix is in that record: your role, your shop, and whether the record is active. A deactivated login means no access at all, which is also how access is revoked when someone leaves.

The shop switcher: check it every time

If you own one shop, you will barely notice the switcher. If you own several, it is the most important control in the portal.

The switcher lists every shop your login may touch. As a franchise owner, you see every shop you own; pick one and the portal remembers it, and from that moment every screen, every report, and every list is scoped to that shop.

Build the habit: glance at the switcher before you do anything that matters: payouts, reports, staff changes. Doing payroll or pulling sales figures while switched to the wrong shop is the franchise equivalent of mailing the wrong envelope. The portal shows the active shop name; if you cannot see it, you are not looking.

One edge case: a stale switcher setting does not produce an error: it silently falls back to the default shop. If the numbers on a screen look wrong for your shop, first check whether the switcher actually has your shop active, not whether the data is broken.

What you can and cannot reach

Your franchise-owner role makes you the owner of your shop. Inside your shop you run the business: CRM, appointments, catalog, orders, staff, locations, settings. You cannot cross the fence

  • You cannot see the master shop or any other franchisee's data. The switcher lists only shops you own.
  • You cannot change platform-level configuration; that belongs to the master shop.
  • Your staff hold narrower roles, which you manage yourself under Settings → Users in the admin portal. Give people the least access that lets them do their job; the owner role is yours, not a convenience login for the front desk. See Your Staff: Users, Roles, and Access (Your Staff: Users, Roles, and Access).

Every permission change on your shop is written to the permission audit log: who changed what, and when. If something about your access ever looks off, that log is where the answer is.

If you are locked out

Work the chain in order

  1. Confirm you are on your franchise's vanity URL (the address created from your franchise code), not a bookmarked oddity.
  2. Check whether the invite email reached the address on file.
  3. Have franchise support verify that your login is active and carries the franchise-owner role on your shop.

Warning

Do not create a second login to work around a lockout. Duplicate identities across shops are how permission problems start.
