Learning Center Overview

This page covers the Learning Center at /learn: the public catalog of animal-care programs, how enrollment works through the waitlist, who the Learning Center serves, and where each related topic is covered in this section.

The catalog and the classroom

The Learning Center has two parts. The catalog is the public part: fifteen programs that you can search and filter by track (veterinary, practice management, behavior and training, grooming, and animal care), by level, and by duration. Each program has a detail page with its hours, terms, module highlights, and credential. See Browsing the Course Catalog and Program Detail Pages.

The classroom is where enrolled learning takes place: structured learning days led by Professor, the teaching presence in the classroom, with lessons, checks, assignments, and support from human co-hosts. See The Classroom.

Enrollment through the waitlist

Enrollment begins with the waitlist

  1. Open a program detail page or go to /learn/enroll.
  2. Enter your email address in the waitlist form.
  3. Submit the form. The success message on the page is your confirmation; no confirmation email is sent.
  4. Wait to be contacted when a cohort opens. Waitlist signups are worked first when enrollment opens.

Submitting the same email address twice does not create a second signup. Your customer account will also be your learner account, so you will not need a separate sign-in for the classroom. See Enrollment and Waitlist and Learner Account and Sign-In.

Who the Learning Center serves

  • Prospective learners browse the catalog, read program pages, and join the waitlist. No account is needed for any of these steps.
  • Enrolled learners use the classroom: learning days, checks, assignments, the notebook, and progress records.
  • Instructors and administrators use the instructor surfaces and the admin console covered in Instructor Tools and Admin LMS Console.

Page layout

Public learning pages: the catalog, program pages, the enrollment page, and the sign-in page: use the same header and footer as the rest of the site. The classroom, instructor, and admin surfaces run full-screen without that header and footer, so the working surface is not interrupted.
